Founded by a group of dedicated volunteers and animal lovers, the Board of Directors consists of Janice Gonzalez and Heather Wilson and officers Luz Wong, Secretary; Janice Chatterton, Treasurer; and Gretchen DeWitt, President. All Board members and officers work on a volunteer basis and do not receive salaries.
The SPCA de PV has been providing and will continue to provide:
- Private vet costs for rescued animals from the
acopio and other locations. These costs include tests, vaccinations,
deworming, Frontline treatment for ticks and lice, neutering and
spaying, two baths a week and room and board until adopted .
- All spaying and neutering costs for animals we rescue from the Acopio and put for adoption at the public library every Saturday from 10-2
- Physical improvements to clinic of private vet who fosters animals from the Acopio.
- Physical improvements to the Acopio, i.e., payment for clearing and fencing of approximately 5,500 meters of land to be used as an exercise area for dogs
- Donations of veterinary supplies and equipment to the Patronato de Control de Mascotas y Fauna Silvestre, A.C. and to private vet.
- Volunteer to create and maintain data base of adoptions
- Volunteer to bathe and groom dogs at the Acopio every Friday so they look their very best on Saturday adoption days
- Volunteers every Thursday from 9-2 at the Acopio to walk dogs, socialize cats/kittens and give food and water when needed

private vet's clinic
- Foster homes whenever possible for companion animals
- Financial assistance when needed for animal foster homes
- Adoption network for placement of Acopio and other rescue animals
Future goal:
- Create and operate a private shelter.
