It was a rainy day to start, but cleared up and cute little Sadie ended up finding a forever home. The family who adopted Sadie also donated a large bag of dog food and a dog brush. Thanks so much!!

We found a home for Paloma, who was adopted by David Poltz directly from the casita. Amigo and the kitten Petra also found homes.

The kitten Chispito was also adopted at the library.

Many thanks to everyone for showing up on such a hot and muggy day! Volunteers this Saturday were: Marj, Livia, Lynnette, Lily, Jesica and Litzy.

And this from Shannon: “I adopted Cooper, formerly known as ‘Flash’, at the end of February, at Los Mangos Library. He was so tiny and timid, but that changed soon after he arrived to his new home! Cooper is now almost 8 months old, 46 pounds, and full of energy and love. His ‘sisters’, my two cats, have slowly accepted Cooper into their lives, but he does attend doggy daycare two times a week so he can play with other dogs and give the kitties a break! I’ve also kept in touch with his foster parents, who ended up adopting his brother, Xolo, formerly ‘Sparky’, and the brothers have had two successful play dates!”

Wonderful news! Remember Kelly, that cute little Chihuahua? Well she was adopted by animal lover and advocate Kim Peake. We are all so happy to see her go to Kim because Kelly is very timid. Kim is the SPCA volunteer that adopted Canela long ago because she was so frightened of everyone and had been in the casita for many months, way too timid to get adopted. Now she is a normal outgoing dog and I think the same will happen with Kelly under Kim’s loving care. Kudos to Kim Peake!

Petrita - Adopted

We were also fortunate to find a forever home for one dog, Mary Jane, who was adopted on Saturday.

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Looks like Petrita has found a new buddy in her forever home. Petrita had been fostered by our intrepid volunteer Luz Wong. And although happy Petrita has found a wonderful home, Luz still misses her terribly. Thanks Luz for taking care of her until she found a permanent home.
